Video: “The Perfect Woman”

This piece was commissioned by a church looking to communicate a Bible passage in a humorous, thought-provoking way. The final product - the video itself - is a compilation of multiple stages of development:
- Passage selected contains numerous figurative physical descriptions from the perspective of a man who loves a woman. These figuratives were converted to literals, overlaid in sequence on a still photograph of one of the church’s pastors.
- Still image sequence shown live in church while another pastor reads the passage. Audio of this event is recorded with multiple channels (the speaker, the audience reactions).
- Images are resequenced and timed to coordinate with the live audio; exported as an MPG video file.
- Additional audio (explanatory remarks, prayer) sequenced with a motion placeholder, some text, and two relevant text motion effects.
- Final product is DVD quality video (for archives); uploaded to video sharing sites to maximize visibility.
Entire project from conception to completion consumed approximately 4.5 hours. Production cost: $0 (pro bono).

The Four Personality Types
The four types can be classified in dozens of different ways (including the common “Lion, Otter, Beaver, Golden Retriever), but this class set (Analytical, Active, Amiable, Administrative) lends itself well to an innate sense of respectability for each type (less pressure to incorrectly self-identify with the “noblest” personality type).
